Square Feet is a plural form of square foot. It is an area measurement unit abbreviated as ft2, sq ft, sf. Suppose 1 ft width multiplied by 1 ft height is called 1 square foot. On the other hand, 10 ft * 10 ft is equal to 100 ft2, it means one 10 feet length whose width is 1 feet cover the area of 10 sq ft, similarly ten feet length and ten feet width spread into hundred square feet.
12 inches equal to 1 feet in length. So, 12*12 = 144 sq inches that is 1 sq ft.
